John Trentes has been a regular on the songwriter scene in Nashville since his first visit in 1986. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, he permanently moved to Music City in 2008, establishing a successful track record which includes not only cuts by established and up-and-coming artists, but song placements in motion pictures and commercials as well.
Writing in a visual and conversational style that listeners identify with and instantly “get,” Trentes’ songs touch on universal and relatable subjects, with strong, catchy grooves, great hooks and memorable melodies. He's twice been honored for Song of The Year from the Tennessee Songwriter’s Association International (in 2014 and 2015), and his “Ordinary Things” won third place in the 11th Annual Billboard Magazine International Song Contest.
“Nobody Loves The Roach”, cowritten with nationally-known comedian, Bluebird Café emcee and parodist Steve Goodie, will be featured in the end credits of the movie “Aaah Roach,” starring Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers) and Barry Bostwick (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Spin City and many others). The song was also featured on the legendary Dr. Demento Show.
Trentes wrote the first commercial jingle for AT&T’s “Uverse” internet service, which was adopted by the company and circulated worldwide. He co-wrote the title cut on the CD, “Mama’s Girl” released by artist Brenda Kaye Perry (Grand Ole Opry, Porter Wagoner Show), and has also had independent releases for newcomers such as Starr Belle ("While I Kiss Your Boyfriend").

A multi-instrumentalist (he plays guitar, bass, saxophone, and “a few others”), Trentes operates his own studio and is proficient with numerous music software applications, including Pro Tools, Wavelab, and Reaper.
